SNEHALKUMAR CHAVADA
Snehalkumar Chavada joined the Drug Discovery Unit, CBCMT, VIT as a Junior Research Fellow under BRNS, BARC coordinated Project on 7th July 2024. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Gujarat University, Gujarat, India. After a Bachelor’s degree, he started the startup Saffrone emulsion solution, Later he winded down business and joined a master’s in Industrial Chemistry at the Central University of Gujarat, India. During his master’s, he worked in organic synthesis, including sustainable approaches such as photochemical and mechanochemical reactions with the team of Dr. L. Raju Chowhan. In his master’s thesis, he worked on a project titled: “Photoacid-Catalyzed Domino Reaction Driven C-H/S-H Functionalization of Bioactive Molecules to Access Xanthene Scaffolds”. After his master’s degree, he joined Natural Product Synthesis and Asymmetric Catalysis Laboratory, at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, India. Where he worked on Project Titled: “Divergent Strategy for the Total Synthesis of Biological Active Indole and Tetrahydroquinoline-based Terpenoids” with Dr. Santanu Ghosh. He is more interested in implementing the fundamental concept of academic research in chemistry to society for sustainable healthcare and manufacturing. He is a Synthetic Chemist specializing in the total synthesis of natural products of metabolites, drug discovery, and sustainable methods including photocatalysis and mechanochemical reactions, and his areas of interest include the development and application of molecular editing tools, composing selective alteration of the compound’s architecture without disrupting other inherent functionalities and development of novel efficient synthetic routes by flow chemistry for complex molecules with potential applications in the pharmaceutical and materials science industries. He is currently working at DDU on the development of sustainable methods for the synthesis of novel drug conjugates and FAPI as novel radiopharmaceuticals targeting CAFs.
