Centre for Bio Materials, Cellular and Molecular Theranostics (CBCMT) was established in the year 2013 under the able leadership of Prof. Geetha Manivasagam is an integral part of VIT.

CBCMT is a highly interdisciplinary research center. The primary research interests include drug delivery, in vitro 3D tissue models for drug screening applications, bone tissue engineering, cardiac patch applications, nanomaterials for theranostics, 3D bioprinting for developing organ mimics, cancer cell imaging, novel drug discovery, and its targeted delivery.

The CBCMT boasts a range of cutting-edge lab facilities, including advanced confocal microscopy for detailed imaging needs, a state-of-the-art 3D bioprinting facility featuring the Cellink BioX bioprinter for intricate tissue constructs, and an EVOS fluorescent microscope for high-quality fluorescence microscopy. Researchers can access these facilities to conduct groundbreaking experiments and advance their research in biomaterials, cellular, and molecular theranostics.

Our Research Projects
CBCMT faculty members have obtained numerous intramural projects from VIT as well as various extramural projects from various funding agencies like DST-SERB, DBT, BRNS, TATA-VIT and other international collaborative projects.
