Research Facilities At CBCMT
Welcome to the state-of-the-art research facilities at the Centre for Biomaterials, Cellular and Molecular Theranostics (CBCMT), established in 2013 under the visionary leadership of Prof. Geetha Manivasagam.
CBCMT is equipped with high-end instruments and advanced tissue culture facilities to facilitate groundbreaking research. Our newest addition, the HOME (Human Organ Manufacturing and Engineering) Lab, features cutting-edge technologies including two Cellink BioX bioprinters and a high-end Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy Facility. This facility enhances our capabilities in fabricating 3D organoids and tissue mimics, positioning us at the forefront of tissue engineering research.
1. Confocal Microscope
Our advanced Confocal Microscope facility offers high-resolution imaging capabilities for detailed analysis of biological samples, enabling researchers to delve into the intricacies of cellular and molecular structures.
2. 3D Bioprinter (CELLINK, BIOX)
CBCMT’s 3D Bioprinting facility boasts cutting-edge Cellink BioX bioprinters, allowing researchers to fabricate complex tissue constructs and organoids with precision. This facility opens new avenues for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research.
3. EVOS Fluorescent Microscope
The EVOS Fluorescent Microscope facility provides researchers with high-quality fluorescence microscopy capabilities for a wide range of applications, facilitating studies in cellular imaging, molecular biology, and more.
Nothing Beats Good Education For The Betterment Of A Student’s Future
With this addition, centre is better positioned to fabricate 3D organoids, tissue mimics, which will also be one of the key focus areas in coming years. The ongoing projects of the center are funded by both national and international funding agencies. The center also has a strong research collaboration with scientists from leading research laboratories across the globe.
